- Began his legal career with Dow Chemical before moving to Hong Kong Telecom, part of the Cable and Wireless Group, where he served as General Counsel and later Director of Regulatory Affairs
- Served as Asia Pacific Regional General Counsel with British Telecom plc and subsequently as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of GE Consumer Finance in the Asia region
